On the 5th, the renowned British art magazine ArtReview unveiled its ‘2024 Power 100’ list. Since 2002, the annual ‘Power 100’ has involved experts from around the globe in an in-depth and comprehensive evaluation to select 100 individuals who have made significant contributions to the global art and cultural scene through their activities and influence.
Art never stopped a war and never got anybody a job. That was never its function. Art cannot change events, but it can change people. It can affect people so that they are changed.

Artist_Global K-Art Artist Mire Lee’s Solo Exhibition at the New Museum This Summer
Artist Mire Lee’s works are far from picturesque or beautiful. They have a bizarre and grotesque appearance that evokes feelings of disgust. But because of this, it is difficult to look away from Lee’s works. Some of her works drip wet slime as if an animal’s intestines were hung from an iron bar, while others resemble a desolate, abandoned construction site with the torn fabric remaining on a steel frame, reminiscent of a battered whale with only its bones remaining.

Artist_Global K-Art Artist Donghoon Rhee Holds Solo Exhibition at VSF, Los Angeles
VSF (Various Small Fires) is presenting Woman, a solo exhibition by Donghoon Rhee (b. 1991), at the gallery’s “and Milk” project space in Los Angeles. It is the artist’s first solo exhibition outside of Korea, featuring new wood sculptures and paintings. The exhibition’s title was inspired by the works of Willem de Kooning, Woman I (1950–1953) and Woman III (1953).

Andrew Russeth from The New York Times published an article introducing the South Korean artist duo Moon Kyungwon and Jeon Joonho, better known as Moon and Jeon, and their upcoming solo exhibition at Kanazawa’s 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, one of Japan’s largest contemporary art museums. The exhibition will be taking place in May, 2022.

Museum_Global K-Art What It Means to Have A Curatorship for Korean Art at The Met
The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), one of the world’s top five museums, has established a dedicated curator position for Korean art. Supported by the Korea Foundation (KF) and the Samsung Cultural Foundation, this marks its first permanent role for a Korean art curator at an overseas art institution. Eleanor Soo-ah Hyun, also known as Hyun Soo-ah in Korea, has been appointed as the first Korean art curator at The Met.
