One of South Korea’s leading contemporary sculptors, Chung Seoyoung, is participating in the 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT11). Held at the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) in Brisbane, Australia, APT11 has been underway since November 30 and features 70 artists and collectives from more than 30 countries.

Museum_Global K-Art What It Means to Have A Curatorship for Korean Art at The Met
The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), one of the world’s top five museums, has established a dedicated curator position for Korean art. Supported by the Korea Foundation (KF) and the Samsung Cultural Foundation, this marks its first permanent role for a Korean art curator at an overseas art institution. Eleanor Soo-ah Hyun, also known as Hyun Soo-ah in Korea, has been appointed as the first Korean art curator at The Met.

Gallery Hyundai, one of Korea’s major galleries, is participating in Art Basel, Basel in Switzerland, starting with a VIP opening on the 13th and running through the 18th. Gallery Hyundai is participating for the first time in 16 years since 2008 and will introduce more than 40 works by monochrome painting master Ufan Lee and ceramic artist Park Young-sook.

Biennale_Art Focus The History of the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and Its 2024 Exhibition
The Korean Pavilion of the Venice Biennale was the last one to be built in Giardini Park in 1995 when more than 23 countries were waiting for the opportunity to establish a national pavilion in the area. The 2024 Korean Pavilion exhibition, co-curated by Jacob Fabricius and Seolhui Lee, will showcase the works of artist Koo Jeong A.
