Daejeon Museum of Art has selected six artists for ‘Next Code 2024,’ which discovers and supports young artists in the Daejeon and Chungcheong-do.
Next Code is an exhibition to discover young artists in Daejeon and Chungcheong-do to support creative activities, and since 1999, it has fostered 152 young artists and introduced their works.
This year, a total of 96 artists applied for the competition, and six artists were finally selected through expert portfolio review: KANG Cheolgyu, KIM Donghyung, SONG Jihyun, LEE Jungsung, YEOM Inhwa and JANG Dongwook. The jury said they saw the current status, trends, and potential of contemporary art culture through their works and selected young artists from various fields such as painting, installation, media art, and crafts

‘Next Code 2024’ will be held at the Daejeon Museum of Art’s Manyeon-dong main building for about two months from July 19. Artists selected for the competition will receive exhibition and critic matching, review manuscript fees, and production cost, and this year, pop-up exhibitions at Galleria Time World and Maison Galleria Daejeon will also be supported.
