The Incheon Art Platform’s residency program, which was controversially abolished, will be reformed and promoted as the ‘Incheon Young Artists’ from this year. In response, Incheon Art Platform has announced a call for artists to apply for the 2024 Incheon Young Artists, which will be open until the 3rd of next month.
The ‘Incheon Young Artists’ was established to encourage artistic exchange, collaboration, and convergence between genres, including local connections among young artists in Incheon, and to support various creative activities of local artists. The program is open to Incheon-based artists between the ages of 25 and 38 who are active in all fields of contemporary art. The 10 selected people and teams will be in residence from August to March next year.
The reorganization of the residency program reflects Incheon’s policy of lack of coexistence with local artists. In addition to the creative space support program for young artists in Incheon, the Incheon Art Platform said it is preparing a separate project-based creative space operation project that has no regional restrictions and no upper age limit.
