On the 27th, Busan Metropolitan City announced that it signed a business agreement with the Busan Museum of Art and Spanish cultural institutions Casa Asia and LOOP Barcelona.
‘LOOP Festival,’ an international media art festival held in Barcelona, Spain, in April next year, will be co-hosted in Busan. LOOP Festival is an annual exhibition program held by LOOP, a platform established to promote and research media art, including video and film.
Founded in 2003, since its creation it offers a specialized audience a curated selection of video-related contents from challenging perspectives. While teaming up with an international community of artists, curators, gallerists, collectors and institution directors to develop projects which aim at exploring the capacities of video and film in today’s contemporary art discourses, it yearly hosts ‘LOOP Barcelona,’ a special meeting point that unfolds into three main sections.
LOOP Barcelona consists of an exhibition program, the ‘LOOP Festival,’ the ‘LOOP Fair,’ which features galleries from around the world with a focus on media art, and an academic program, ‘LOOP Studies,’ which includes workshops, lectures, and more.
