The Asia Culture Center (ACC) is pleased to present Shining on your days, an exhibition by Kim Whanki, Chun Kyung-ja, Oh Chiho, Yim Siksoon, Amine El Bacha, and Fateh Moudarres, on view from September 14 to December 3.
The exhibition is part of the ACC’s exhibition under Asian themes, which has been organized since 2017 to foster exchanges across the Asia region. This exhibition explores 20th century art from West Asia, particularly from Lebanon and Syria. Drawing on the shared colonial history of West Asia and Korea in the early 20th century, the exhibition juxtaposes works by West Asian artists with works by four leading 20th century Korean artists, Kim Whanki, Chun Kyung-ja, Oh Chiho, and Yim Siksoon. The paintings of the six artists resonate with each other based on their unique originality.
In addition, the ACC simultaneously hosted The view of Hanui (09.14 – 11.19, 2023), an outdoor exhibition about discussions on the environment, and Listening for the Voice of “TEUM” (09.14 – 12.31), an exhibition by Enjung Lee and Jiwon YU, who were selected for the 2023 ACC Open Call.
