Suh Jin-suk, the former director of the Ulsan Art Museum, has been appointed as the new director of the Busan Museum of Art in Busan City. Suh’s term as director will begin on the 16th of this month and will last for two years until October 15, 2025.
Suh holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree from Gachon University and a Master in Fiber and Sculpture degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the United States. He has been actively engaged in the art field, serving as a part-time professor at Gachon University and Ewha Womans University, as well as the director of the Nam June Paik Art Center in Korea.
His recent role as the head of the planning committee and the inaugural director of the Ulsan Art Museum has earned him recognition for his outstanding abilities in both art planning and exhibitions, as well as administrative and organizational management, leading the Ulsan Art Museum to a successful opening and rapid recognition as a prominent art institution within a short period.
