S2A presents “The Greatest Moment”, a duo exhibition by Kim Tschang-Yeul and Lee Ufan, through April 24. The exhibition features major works from the 1960s to the present day by Kim Tschang-Yeul and Lee Ufan, two masters who have left their mark on Korean art and contributed to its colorful spectrum.
Kim Tschang-Yeul, whose modern and contemporary Korean representational paintings evoke an oriental atmosphere with his hyper-realistic paintings, and Lee Ufan, a world-renowned artist who changed the paradigm of Western-centered painting, met in other countries as young men, established friendships, and developed their work through mutual influence. They strived to capture the internationalization of Korean contemporary art and the identity of Korean art in the global art history, and are regarded as artists who has led the flow of Korean modern and contemporary art. And they are still at the center of it.
“The Greatest Moment” examines the works of both Kim Tschang-Yeul and Lee Ufan, and will provide an opportunity to explore how the spirit of their works have changed and influenced the contemporary art scene.
