Project Space SARUBIA presents a solo exhibition by Sunkyung Ji, an artist from the SO.S (Sarubia Outreach & Support) B group, titled “A white goose crosses between the grass and the wind, drawing fresh strawberries like a moving sun within overlapping circles”, through November 15.

In July 2023, six artists were selected through an open call for the SO.S 2023-2026 program, divided into A, B, and C groups. This exhibition presents the outcomes of the program so far, seeking active feedback. The SO.S B group program focuses on closely analyzing the creative journeys and environments of artists adapting to new surroundings, such as Korea and Seoul. It aims to encourage active creation and exhibition activities through systematic approaches, including in-depth critical workshops and portfolio reviews.

Ji aesthetically observes and captures images of light reflected through various mediums, adding form, color, and volume to her works. For her, light becomes an element that starkly exposes ambivalent values and concepts, illuminating the infinite spectrum between dualities such as darkness and brightness, presence and absence, materiality and immateriality, and transparency and opacity.

In this exhibition, forms and colors act as both individual expressions and interacting visual languages. Each form distinguishes the space between planes, granting freedom to approach abstract essences. Additionally, her sculptural elements exist within the context of their relationships with the surroundings and the whole, influencing and evolving continuously. In this dynamic, the viewer’s gaze follows the sensations that evoke movement.
