As autumn arrives, the landscape transforms with beautiful foliage. In celebration of this vibrant season, we present three noteworthy exhibitions featuring artists whose works are richly infused with color.
| Gallery Baton Chung Eun-Mo Solo Exhibition “Chung Eun-Mo”
Gallery Baton is presenting a solo exhibition by Chung Eun-Mo until November 9. The artist moved to New York in the mid-1960s, where she earned a master’s degree from Pratt Institute. She currently resides in Italy, continuing her artistic practice. With over 40 years of experience exhibiting in major cities such as New York, Rome, Munich, and Seoul, this exhibition holds special significance as it marks her long-awaited return to solo exhibitions in Korea after 21 years.
Chung Eun-Mo's most significant artistic feature is the visualization of the places she has experienced as architectural structures on canvas. The organic sizes and balanced composition of geometric shapes create a sense of depth within her flat works. Additionally, the Eastern influences evident in the colors and tones that fill the canvas enhance the allure of her pieces.
Among the works featured in this exhibition, the 2019 piece C1914, measures 140 × 140 cm and is priced at approximately 25 million KRW (EUR 17,000). The 2021 piece C2135,, sized at 60F, is available for about 18 million KRW (EUR 12,000), while the same year's C2127, sized at 20F, is priced at 10 million KRW (EUR 7,000).
Considering that a 2021 piece sized at 10F is being sold by another international gallery for approximately 6.7 million KRW (EUR 4,500), the prices of the works presented at Gallery Baton can be deemed appropriate. Additionally, since the artist's works are not easily accessible in the Korean art field, this exhibition offers a valuable opportunity to view multiple pieces in person and purchase those that resonate with potential buyers.
| 아트사이드 갤러리 강준석 개인전 “MELANGE””
From October 17 to November 16, Artside Gallery presents the solo exhibition “MELANGE” by artist Kang Junseok. Renowned for his warm colors and gentle, detailed expressions, Kang draws inspiration from the landscapes and natural life of Jeju Island, beautifully intertwining his memories and ideals in his artwork. The backgrounds feature simple, calming compositions that evoke a sense of emotional serenity, inviting viewers to experience a moment of peace.
The artworks of Kang Junseok convey a serene, fairy-tale quality, with prices varying by year of creation. In this exhibition, the 100F pieces, including easily,(2024), potluck party 2(2024), and empty house 2,(2024), are priced at 35 million KRW. The 60F works, such as warm winter(2024) and keep going (2024), are available for 21 million KRW, while the 20F piece stretch(2024) is priced at 8 million KRW.

Given the high demand among collectors for the artist's works, the likelihood of prices decreasing is low, while the potential for appreciation is significantly higher. Additionally, the artist typically takes a considerable amount of time to complete each piece, resulting in a limited number of works produced each year.

Therefore, if you find a piece you like, it is advisable to inquire promptly or secure your place on a waiting list for future opportunities.
| PIBI Gallery Nakhee Sung Solo Exhibition “Short Sleeves”
PIBI Gallery is currently hosting the solo exhibition “Short Sleeves” by Nakhee Sung, which runs until November 9. The artist, known for her spontaneous and rhythmically vibrant abstract paintings, presents new works characterized by more fluid color fields and organic forms. Notably, compared to her past works, there is a significant change in her use of higher saturation, a broader range of colors, and expanded color fields.
The titles of the works featured in this exhibition, such as Cascade, Saunte, Pivot, Circuit, and Portamento, evoke a dynamic flow of colors that glide and move smoothly. Reflecting on these titles while viewing the artworks creates a sensation of wandering freely across the canvas, enhancing the experience of their fluidity.
While prices are not officially listed, it is noted that the price of 100F pieces has increased by 2 million KRW compared to when the artist was represented by Gana Art four years ago. In this exhibition, the ‘Saunter’(2023) series is priced at 20 million KRW for the 100F piece, while the ‘Circuit’(2022) series is available for 18 million KRW for the 80F work.
Additionally, the ‘Cascade’(2024) series, sized at 20F, is priced at 8 million KRW, and Nuanced 1(2024), at 3F, is available for 2.5 million KRW. For drawings measuring 29.7 × 21 cm, the price is set at 1.8 million KRW.
