The SONGEUN Art Award Exhibition is a showcase of the latest works by leading emerging artists in contemporary Korean art in one place. This exhibition features the diversity of contemporary Korean art through the paintings, sculptures, installations, videos, and sound works of 20 young artists born between 1979 and 1990.

For this edition of the SONGEUN Art Award Exhibition, 512 artists applied, and 20 were selected, including Kyungho Baek, Yeonhwa Hur, Moonjung Hwang, Sunjeong Hwang, Jang Pa, Sophie Jeong, Jangyeun Jun, Jung Jin, Eun Yeoung Lee, Sejun Lee, Woosung Lee, Nosik Lim, Isaac Moon, Jinu Nam, Jongkwan Paik, Hyung-Jin Park, Wunggyu Park, Mi-Jung Shin, Je Hyun Shin, and Hwasoo Yoo.

The SONGEUN Art Award exhibition and program has been held annually since 2001 to discover and support talented contemporary Korean artists. In celebration of its 20th anniversary and the opening of a new building in 2020, the awards increased the number of selected artists to 20 and expanded benefits through collaboration with the Seoul Museum of Art and sponsorship from Cartier in the 2021 revamp. The exhibition, showcasing the new works of the 20 selected artists from the preliminary judging in February 2023, will include the selection of one winner by six external judges during the exhibition period.
