Hong Kyoungtack’s works feature golf course landscapes, the sky, space, and Mount Everest. These works seem to have nothing in common with his previous works, but through these materials, he presents the landscape as an object of human dreams and desires. The sky, the universe, and the high mountains have long been awe-inspiring and inspiring dreams, fears but also sacred and mysterious.
In the work, bookshelves are arranged around Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, and books are placed on the shelves, while lanterns, owls, and chalices are placed around. These are materials related to religion and mythology, and he incorporated them into the work as formative elements to emphasize the sacred and mysterious.
