〈Library 3〉 is an early work from the beginning of the ‘Library’ series. Fascinated by the modern elements he found in the Korean Chaekgeori Paintings of Joseon, he began the ‘Library’ series. This work was created over a period of six years and shows the artist’s extreme sophistication and paranoid integrity. The work is characterized by the depiction of an enclosed space, with bookshelves densely packed and stacked inside. The stacked books in the center form an altar in a temple, with a variety of religiously related still lifes around and above it.
