Artist Lee Jinju (b.1980), specializing in oriental painting, expresses the structure of memories or psychological landscapes distant from logic through various objects in her artworks. Her solo exhibition, Confined Composition Part 2, showcased at Project Underground in Arario Museum Topdong Cinema in Jeju, features works that emphasize the act of ‘seeing.’ The pieces, installed along the narrow space, create cramped pathways. Visitors are compelled to move their bodies along these narrow passages, engaging with the artwork. Through this exhibition, the artist aims to convey the inevitability of distortion in the act of seeing, prompting observers to recognize the impossibility of perceiving the world entirely and objectively.
